| | Re: Anyway to install just Live Messenger? Greetings, Yes there is, you can install directly from the MSI files. To do so, start by downloading and running the following MSI file: http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3qfe/wlm.asp Then install the Communications Platform: http://messenger.jonathankay.com/red...e/contacts.asp That's all you need if you're using Vista. Otherwise, you'll need two more components: http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3rc/dw20.asp and http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3rc/msvcrt.asp That will at least provide you with a working Messenger application. However, if you're not using Vista or don't have Office 2007 installed, you'll probably want the Segoe UI font so things appear properly (it does work without it however): http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3rc/segoe.asp Note that this isn't a full installation of Messenger that you get within the real setup program. You can see exactly what components you didn't install and how everything works together on my blog here: http://messengergeek.spaces.live.com...DA1!1723.entry -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Saucer Man" <saucerman@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:Mrgul.14937$v8.10859@xxxxxx Quote: > When I try to upgrade Messenger using the upgrade option, it takes me to a screen where it > shows many items to install.
