WLM-Audio Echo problem

I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium, and I have a problem with
communicating to contacts on Windows Live Messenger, using a Microsoft
LifeChat LX-3000 headset. The problem arises only when I speak to a contact,
that I get an Echo back of each word I speak, none of the contacts are
running speakers at the time. I'm able to hear them quite well. I've
configured the headset and speakers so that I'm able to switch back and forth
with no problem, at one point though, I even unplugged the speakers
altogether, but no differance. I've gone into TOOLS and clicked on AUDIO &
VIDEO setup etc but then fine out in the instructions it's for XP only, but
it doesn't give anything for Vista. My contact doesn't hear my echo, he only
hears my regular voice, I'm the only one that gets the echo feedback. I have
also adjusted my volume to lower the echo, but I'd like to eliminate it
completely. This also occurred on my Logitech Clear Voice headset. The
Vista does recognize the Microsoft headset, so I'm at a stalling point. I've
also talked with two technicians, they've also searched the system, but no
solution, only for XP. I have no problems doing Skype. I use the
communication in conjuction with my Logitech web-cam. Is there anyone that
has had similar problems that might be able to assist me, I would appreciate
it very much.
