Vista - Contact Lost

Hello,

I've just updated my Windows Live Messenger to Windows Live Messenger 2009 Build 14.0.8064.206 but when i sign in, i notice that all my contacts in my previous version of Windows Live Messenger is not in my newer version of Windows Live Messenger. Can i please know why?

Just to verify, you are signed into the same account?

That verified, to start, you might try removing your cached Windows Live Contacts (don't
worry, the actual contacts are stored on the server).

To do so, shut down Messenger and delete one of the following folders;
On XP you can find this folder at:
\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live
Contacts

On Vista, you'll find it at:
\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts

Where username is your Windows username. Additionally, some of these folders will be hidden
if browsing by default, so to see them simply press the Alt key on the keyboard in any
Windows Explorer window to bring up the toolbar, click Tools, then Folder Options, then the
View tab, and then choose 'Show hidden files and folders'. After click OK, they should appear
with the other folders.

After removing the Windows Live Contacts folder, start up Messenger again and sign in again.

Yes, i sign in using the same account. I've did what you asked me to do but i still cant see my contacts when i sign in into my Windows Live Messenger Version 2009.

I suggest you do the same. Hmm for some reason when you do a search for
contact or contacts no results are fount. Before it would show all the
questions. MS must be up to something. Well I got some saved look at these to
