| Vista Ultimate 32bits | Re: Messages not delivered in chat using Windows Live messenger 2009 I think reinstalling back to Windows Live Messenger 2008 works. So it is definitely a Windows Messenger 2009 problem. Please fix it. |

| | RE: Messages not delivered in chat using Windows Live messenger 20 Ok me and my gf have the exact same problem but just to clarify the situation a bit some data. Hey MVP's and other users. Problem: some messages randomly don't get delivered or received there are no error message's regarding this. Furthermore, there is not really any consistency sometimes it's ok for about half an hour then about 10 minutes it sends nearly no message's. My messenger version on my laptop : windows live messenger 2009 build: 14.0.8064.206 My messenger version on my computer : windows live messenger 2008 build: 8.6.1302.1018 My gfs messengers version on her laptop: was the same as my computer 2008 on and is now the same as my laptop 2009 version. There is untill now no consistincy between the versions the same error occures. We also tried having her use web messenger. It did not differ. We even tried using skype (the both of us). But with skype the same problem occures. The advantage of skype is that we at least can see that the message has not been deliverd. And skype sents it afer some time. I have experienced the same problem talking to other users than my girlfriend as well. If there is anything i can do to get a better grip on this situation please tell me. I will provide the necesarry info and tests. greetings, Jonasz "ups" wrote: Quote: > I'm also having this problem. | | RE: Messages not delivered in chat using Windows Live messenger 20 So... Over 6 month and no news or fix! This has become extremely annoying, so much that I've been using a lot more GChat now. It's not perfect... but at least I know that what I type is sent. Is there any active development in MSN.. or just more bloated functionalities that annoy users? Sorry about the rant... but one must always expect quality from any product (even from free products) and that is not what I'm getting! "ups" wrote: Quote: > I'm also having this problem. | x64 | Re: Messages not delivered in chat using Windows Live messenger 2009 I am using XP and have the same problem. It started maybe a month ago but I don't know if it coincided with a windows live update or not. About 10 percent of the messages I send do not arrive in the target recipient's chat window. I recently moved my computer from work to my home office and never had the problem when it was at work. It did not seem to begin immediately after moving either though. I'm hard wired to a wrt54g linksys router which connects to a cable modem for Time Warner cable. Messenger is basically useless to me right now, I have to send e-mails when I need a message to go through. |

| Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit | Re: Messages not delivered in chat using Windows Live messenger 2009 same problem here, 2 users from Spain, been chatting for quite a long time on a daily basis and have had this issue more than 5 times a day. Tech info: -Both using (year from now) last version of WLM always -Tested with XP SP3, Vista Home, Vista Ultimate, Windows 7 RC -Tested with different connections DSL, Cable.. and different routers and modems (all possible settings) It's quite annoying since it seems to do it when there is a "small pause" then the first message gets lost in the net. Like if the protocol was sleeping and took one message to awaken it (but failed to deliver the msg). |

| x64 | Re: Messages not delivered in chat using Windows Live messenger 2009 I do not have the problem in other messaging clients such as AIM or Astra. I've switched to Trillian and have been problem free except with windows live contacts. I don't like it as much but I at least know my messages are received. |

| Vista 32bit | Re: Messages not delivered in chat using Windows Live messenger 2009 Hi there, I am having the same problem mentioned above. Messages stop going through with no error message. I could be chatting, however, after what seems to be a period of inactivity, it turns out that MSN has been dropping messages in between. I never had this problem in the 2008 Version, and for a while had even gone back to it. However, after this mandatory upgrade, I am once again back to 2009 and once again having the same issue. It is definitely WLM 2009. I am on a home network, running a linksys router. Please help. |
