| | Re: Messages not delivered in chat using Windows Live messenger 2009 Greetings Mang, Yes a few people have been reporting this happening. One thing I'd be particularly interested in knowing is if this problem started when you installed 2009 or if the problem existed before? Additionally, knowing what sort of networking environment you're in (proxy, a standard ISP, an Internet café, etc.) would be great to know. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Mang" <Mang@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:CF5C10D1-7FD3-4EE8-B96A-4BD05B694DA3@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi this has been happening for a while, i am online and my contact that im > chatting with online and from time to time they dont receive the messages i > sent and i dont receive what they sent and it looks as if nothing hasppening. > i have noticed couple of other users are reporting the same problem. please > help me with this issue. |

| | Re: Messages not delivered in chat using Windows Live messenger 20 Hi Mang, Got it. If you want you might consider downgrading to Windows Live Messenger 8.5 (2008) as it would be interesting to see if the problem persisted there. You can do so by heading over to Add or Remove Programs / Programs and Features, choosing Windows Live Essentials and uninstalling Messenger from there. You can then download 8.5 from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...5-0487bd5e84ef -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Mang" <Mang@xxxxxx> wrote in message news 2B0FFF0-2557-4915-96E1-85229F785310@xxxxxxQuote: > Hello sir: I use my computer at home through and ISP and i didnt have this > problem when i was using Messengar 8.1 and it was working correctly. > > Thank You > > Mang > > "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" wrote: > Quote: >> Greetings Mang, >> >> Yes a few people have been reporting this happening. | XP | Re: Messages not delivered in chat using Windows Live messenger 2009 Hi John, I'm experiencing this problem for the past week or so too. Message on Live Messenger 2009 couldn't be sent even if I reinstalled it more than 3 times. I've tried to download Version 8.5 but I have this error: "There was a problem with this installation. Windows Live Suite was not installed System error details Code: 0x8000ffff Description: Catastrophic failure" Kindly advice. Thanks! |

| Vista Premium 32bit | Re: Messages not delivered in chat using Windows Live messenger 2009 I chat everyday and send links quite a bit. i have had issue with people not receiving IMs and links too. I tried to uninstall Live Messenger 2009 and then install 8.5, but when I tried to open Messenger, it forced me to upgrade again. and what's up with no "send" button. when copying and pasting with the mouse, having to hit the enter button seems so primitive. Frustrating Thomas |

| | Re: Messages not delivered in chat using Windows Live messenger 2009 Hi, If you're receiving this error then you typically need to still uninstall the Live Essentials from the Add or Remove Programs/Programs and Features in the Control Panel. If that doesn't work, you may just download and run this following 8.5 Microsoft Installer (MSI) file: http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/wlm85.asp (although 2009 still needs to be uninstalled for this to work). -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "femmeordinaire" <guest@xxxxxx-email.com> wrote in message news:2c21d4132db28d41588c2c50384885db@xxxxxx-gateway.com... | | RE: Messages not delivered in chat using Windows Live messenger 2009 I'm also having this problem. It is extremely annoying as it fails silently! I don't remember having this issue with a previous version of MSN. A similar problem that may or may not be related: When logged in multiple computers, not all messages appear in the other computer. If I'm logged in with both Computers A and B and if I type something in computer A, then it is supposed to the same message appear on the window of computer B. This does not always happen. But do note that the messages can fail even if I'm only logged to one computer. Like I said, the problem might or may not be related.
