WLM 9 and Vista 64

I'm just wondering if any of you got WLM 9 build 14.0.8064.206 to work with Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bits.

Mine installed with no problem and I can even login but that's it. If I try to send an instant message or if someone tries to send me an instant message WLM crashes

I hope there's a workaround for it.
thanks.

Re: WLM 9 and Vista 64

I am running it successfully on Vista and Windows 7 beta 64 bit versions.
Any error message or just a crash?

Re: WLM 9 and Vista 64

I don't know if it helps but I run the latest wlm9 on Vista business 64 and
have been since it was RC and have had no problems at my end. One of my
contacts has problems at his end but no other contacts are having any issues
with it

Re: WLM 9 and Vista 64

No error message is shown. Just the box it says WLM stopped and asking me if I want to wait or close the application. Yeah I tried Windows 7 64 bits and it works fine there. I guess I'll just have to wait for the final release of Windows 7 or next time I format my HD to try again. Thanks anyway

Does it happen all of the time? I've seen it happen on all versions of Windows
intermittently and can't yet identify the cause. It happens most often when
resuming from Sleep and can be weeks between it happening.

Re: WLM 9 and Vista 64

Yes it happens all the time. I installed so many times, the portugese one, the english one and i never had a single issue installing or signing but never got to send or receive a single message as well. It's always the same behavior and it opens the box saying to wait or close the application.
I'm not sure if it helps anyway but I'm trying on my HP-DV5T.
If there's a way to get a log or something like that, I'll be glad to send to you.

thanks

Re: WLM 9 and Vista 64

I think contacting Support for Windows Live Messenger may be the best way to go
for this problem.
Go to http://support.live.com and sign in with a LiveID
Click on the Windows Live service or product you need help with.
If you are not presented with an email support form, but are instead redirected
to help.live.com for that service/product, in the page that opens from
http://help.live.com select any topic on the left hand side or search for a
question in the search box.
The results of your search or the clicked topic appears in the right hand frame,
along with a tiny link in the lower right hand corner – “Get more help.”
Click that tiny link and you will get to a page with a link “Contact support”
Click that link and you will be presented with the email support form to fill
out. Provide as much detail as possible and you should get a response from
support within 24 hours.
Help topics at http://help.live.com
