| | Problems with upgrade to Messenger 2009 I have recently installed Messenger 2009 and since I cant connect. I get the error code 8000FFFF and it says I cant connect to the service right now and when I trubbleshoot it says nothings wrong... How can I fix it? or if I cant, where can I find the 8.5 version to reinstall it? |

| | Re: Problems with upgrade to Messenger 2009 Greetings Lillis, Generally speaking this error message shows up if the Windows Live Communications Platform isn't installed. You can check this by simply downloading and running this Microsoft Installer file with the latest Comm Platform: http://messenger.jonathankay.com/red...e/contacts.asp After this is installed, shut down Messenger, restart it and try to sign in again. If you're still having problems. You can uninstall Windows Live Messenger 2009 by heading over to the Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs/Programs and Features applet, choose Windows Live Essentials and proceed through the uninstallation there. Then you can install 8.5 by downloading and running this MSI: http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/wlm85.asp -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Lilllis" <Lilllis@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:BE9FCD42-9750-4BEE-959D-262A5CB08C89@xxxxxx Quote: > I have recently installed Messenger 2009 and since I cant connect. > > I get the error code 8000FFFF and it says I cant connect to the service > right now and when I trubbleshoot it says nothings wrong... > > How can I fix it? or if I cant, where can I find the 8.5 version to > reinstall it? |
