| | Corrupted Windows Live Essentials install The problem started with a BSOD during a Windows Update - Windows Live was being installed. On rebooting and starting Windows Live Mail the following error message was shown: The procedure entry point DUserMessageHook could not be located in the dynamic link library UXCore.dll. OK, some files are obviously missing, so I try to uninstall the Windows Live Essentials from Programs and Features. Nothing happens for ages, so I check task manager and there is a task called wlarp.exe - doing nothing. I end the task, download Windows Live installer and try re-installing. The installer insists that Windows Live Mail is installed and does not give me an option to repair. I have also tried all the steps in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940065/en-us but this has not solved the issue either? Although the uninstall step never completed I still tried running WL-Beta-remove.cmd. Any suggestions? |
