Vista - Problematic Live Messenger On Vista Ultimate

Hi!

Please help. I've been looking over the web for possible solution to my problematic live messenger but couldn't find any.

I need to use windows live messenger so I downloaded its installer on msn.com. There seemed to be no problem on the installation - everything went fine until I clicked on the shortcut icon of the live messenger on my desktop - it just won't open: no icon, no everything.

I am using Vista Ultimate.

Worst, when I tried to restart my computer, it won't shut down. It just said "logging out" to eternity. I couldn't do anything but manually turn off my laptop using the main button.

....nothing seems to do here. guess i'll just downgrade my vista to xp...

Do you use a router at home? If so, what brand?

I was having a problem with WLM and it turned out it had something to do with the UNPNP setting in my router. Try checking that setting (or unchecking it) and then restarting.

awwwwwwwwwwww... I tried not using any router just to make the messenger work, still nothing's fixed.

I uninstalled the live messenger, did some disk cleaning to make sure nothing related to it has been left on my laptop, and even clicked on the "system restore" to fix all the problems that may cause program to error.

When I reinstalled windows live messenger again (8.1 then 8.5), the same problem occurred - there was no error on the installation but when I tried the program, it just won't open, nada.

Gosh! I just logged in to meebo.com just to signed in to live messenger and communicate with my clients overseas.
