| | Constant traffic in Network Connections when signed in to WLM I'm just curious why is there a constant traffic after I sign in to WLM. I'm using Windows XP and my Local Area Connection Status or its icon keeps showing that there is inbound and outbound traffic. |

| | Re: Constant traffic in Network Connections when signed in to WLM Greetings Charles, Messenger is constantly synching up your contact list, people are signing in and out, requests for display pictures and other content to and from you, etc. As this traffic is not encrypted, you can watch this happening using a packet scanner like Wireshark: http://www.wireshark.org -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Charles" <c_yoong1763@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:e1NpRvVwJHA.4452@xxxxxx Quote: > I'm just curious why is there a constant traffic after I sign in to WLM. > > I'm using Windows XP and my Local Area Connection Status or its icon keeps showing that > there is inbound and outbound traffic. > |
