Cannot return to previous version of Msn

i had the 8.5 version of Msn messenger on my Vista premium 32bit and i installed the 2009 beta. i didnt like it so i uninstalled it from control panel but now when i try to install the 8.5 it says that a newer version is already installed. i have tryied unsuccessfuly with windows install clean up to remove it but the same error occurs. oh and while there is no path of messenger installed, when i startup msn signs in with the 2009 beta... any help much appreciated.

Re: Cannot return to previous version of Msn

Hi Jonathan,
I've used before yours good advices given here to others,
this time I've made a mess with the latest version of WLM,
trying to "customized" it. I have two unneeded groups in WLM
which I cannot delete. Is there any way that I could delete them
from the WLM Menu?
Greetings -
JDR

Re: Cannot return to previous version of Msn

JDR,
1. http://groups.live.com
- enter the same WLMsgr LiveId and pw when prompted to logon
2. Click on the group you wish to remove
3. Click on Options/ Group Options
4. Click Delete Group, read the message, then click on 'Delete'
5. Click Yes
- it will be removed from WLMsgr

Fyi...In the future, when changing subject matter contrary to an existing thread, its best to start an entirely new thread.
