Sign in Status incorrect

When I boot my computer (Vista Home Premium X64) Windows Live Messenger has
stopped signing in with Available as the status. The icon in the
Notification Tray indicates that I am "Busy" and if I open Windows Live
Messenger it indicates that I am available but the frame around my picture
is Red indicating that I am not available.

This strange behaviour started with the last round of Updates from
Microsoft.

Any ideas on how to fix this weirdness?

Re: Sign in Status incorrect

Greetings Ron,

If you actually change your status after this, does it take affect? There were similar
problems during the beta, and I had someone else tell me something similar earlier today, so
I'm curious if this is the same problem.

Another thing you should do is add yourself to your contact list and see your status there.
That's a quick way to see what your contacts are seeing.

Re: Sign in Status incorrect

If I change my status from the icon in the Notification Tray, nothing
happens but if I open Windows Live Mail and change my status to something
else and then to available, the change is made. That is the only way that I
can change status.

I used to boot my computer and Windows Live Messenger would automatically
sign in and indicate that I was available without any input from me. Now
this isn't available to me anymore it seems.

Ron

I will put myself on my contact list and see what happens.

Thanks

Re: Sign in Status incorrect

I added myself to my contacts list and it properly shows my status.
