| | Are offline messages sent to users? I'm new to MSN Messenger and was wondering if Microsoft has changed the way they treat offline messages. Before they wouldn't get delivered. On Yahoo Messenger they did. I wonder if that has changed? It really means you don't have to use email nearly as often and is far more convenient for the user. You can use IM for almost all communication. |

| | Re: Are offline messages sent to users? Greetings Will, Full offline messaging has been in Messenger for nearly three years now (or more, there's one version of 7.x that can receive them but not send, but I've forgotten exactly now). They'll get the message the next time they sign in as you would expect. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Will" <reply_to_group@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:el0JgY5xJHA.1716@xxxxxx Quote: > I'm new to MSN Messenger and was wondering if Microsoft has changed the way they treat > offline messages. Any recommendations for a software program that will interface MSN, Yahoo, Skype, AOL and other IM programs into one central hub so they all "get along"? |

| | Re: Are offline messages sent to users? Hi Will, I'm not a big fan of the multi-client clients. Each one of them has their own quirks, so I certainly can't say one is better than another. Your choices are Pidgin, Miranda IM, Trillian and others. However, your request your Skype could be a problem. However the latest Trillian Asta beta (http://www.trillian.im/learn/) has support for Skype apparently, but I've yet to make it work personally. My recommendation is just try a few and see what you like. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Will" <reply_to_group@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:uJpdkKCyJHA.5496@xxxxxx Quote: > Great answers Jonathan.
