Messenger not working with Vista Business

Hey, I was really hoping someone could help me!

I recently bought a new computer, and Messenger is giving me trouble on and off.
Sometimes, I will have no problem signing in..
But other times, it will sign me in.. The contact list will start to load, and then I get disconnected and it brings me back to the login page saying "Your connection with Windows Live Messenger has been lost. Reconnecting in (inset-time)". It doesn't reconnect automatically though, the timer just keeps increasing (it won't auto connect, even though the "Sign Me In Automatically" box is checked) until I hit the "Connect Now" button. It's very frustrating!

I have tried all the things suggested on the forum..
I don't have the Policies key in my Registry Key. I also have attempted uninstalling and re-installing with Messenger Plus. That appeared to fix it, then two days later I am back with not being able to connect.

Would anyone at all be able to help please?

Re: Messenger not working with Vista Business

Greetings,

Quick question since you've already searched and presumably tried most/all of the possible
solutions -- are you using a broadband connection or dial-up (or anything that's rather on
the narrowband side, like cellular data)?

Re: Messenger not working with Vista Business

I am using a wireless broadband connection, the type that connects using a USB modem. Could that be the cause?
