uninstall windows live messenger beta in microsoft vista

Hi all.

I have installed the latest version of windows live mesenger beta a couples of days ago and i found that the web cam became blur when im having video chat with my friends. So i uninstalled it from control panel and choose the uninstall program. I have checked qll the box including the messenger, movie maker, silver light etc. When i try to install the older version fo the msn it didnt allow me to do so & said that i have the newer version with me. So i repeat the uninstallation process from control panel a few times and it still the same then i get mad & deleted the whole windows essentilas from my laptop but i still cannot reinstall the windows live messenger (neither new nor old version). Help plsssssssss

Re: uninstall windows live messenger beta in microsoft vista

Greetings Brenda,

Not that it matters, Messenger has been out of beta since December.

Try out ZapMessenger to help with clearing Windows thinking that there is a newer version:

After that, you can go ahead and install the previous version, which can be done by just
downloading and running the following Microsoft Installer (MSI) file:

Re: uninstall windows live messenger beta in microsoft vista

Hi Brenda,

If some files are missing (like the sounds), the quickest solution is just to do a repair
install of Messenger.

To do that, just head over to Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel, choose Windows
Live Messenger and then choose the Repair button.
