Windows Live Essentials

Hi I have been having some real difficulties since downloading the new
version Windows Live messenger. I have read and reread the solutions offered
here and tried them all and still nothing has worked. I cannot read my mail
or reply or forward in OE. Messenger does not work at all (error 8000ffff). I
did what I thought was a clean uninstall and reinstalled and now Windows
Live essentials does not show up at all in add/remove. (Previously I could
not get the add/remove to work for Windows Live essentials)
I'm at my wits end now. Any further solutions?
Thanks

Re: Windows Live Essentials

Greetings,

As a starting point, I think it might be worth using System Restore to before this all
started as opposed to actually trying to address the problem (just because it's affecting OE
and possibly other applications).

In Windows XP (which I assume you're using, given the OE reference), you can get to System
Restore by clicking Start, then Help & Support, then 'Undo changes to my computer using
System Restore'. Then follow the wizard to go to a previous date when all this was working.

Re: Windows Live Essentials

Thank you for replying. What you suggested was gonna be my next recourse, but
I needed to know if there was anything else to try before system restore.
Fortunately I did not have to go there, since I did some more researching of
the posts and found something you suggested and voila it solve those
problems. WLM, though seem still to be a little unstable since it still does
not show when I have mail except where I sign out and back in again.
So thanks one more.

Re: Windows Live Essentials

Hi smiles,

By WLM, do you mean Messenger or Mail?

Re: Windows Live Essentials

I'm sorry. I meant Messenger. Additionally when I click the mail button
(which does not show whether I have mail or not) to go to my inbox, it
automatically signs out and I have to sign back in each time.
Thank you
