| | Live Messenger Status always OFFLINE I am using: Windows Live Messenger Build 14.0.8064.206 on Win XP SP3 (32-bit). For some reason my status can only be displayed as OFFLINE on the web. I have correct settings at: http://settings.messenger.live.com/a...bsettings.aspx and have verify the HTML code which is embedded on the web to be correct. It has worked for close to a year and suddenly stopped. Any ideas? |

| | Re: Live Messenger Status always OFFLINE Greetings, I've heard of this happening before, but the problem was apparently fixed a long time ago. However, you can try the fix that worked for that problem -- just go do that websettings page and uncheck the 'Allow anyone' option then choose Save. Then re-check it and choose Save again. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "M Edvall" <M Edvall@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:BCAC5ED1-6976-4D14-90F5-A683A135BBBA@xxxxxx Quote: > I am using: Windows Live Messenger Build 14.0.8064.206 > > on Win XP SP3 (32-bit). > > For some reason my status can only be displayed as OFFLINE on the web. > > I have correct settings at: > http://settings.messenger.live.com/a...bsettings.aspx > > and have verify the HTML code which is embedded on the web to be correct. > > It has worked for close to a year and suddenly stopped. > > Any ideas? |

| | Re: Live Messenger Status always OFFLINE Still not working. Have now downgraded to 8.0.0812.00 after many battles with Add/Remove Programs. I had to make the messenger executable compatible with Windows 2000 or otherwise it would force an upgrade to the version I had before. So, it does not seem to be a version problem for Windows Live Messenger. Any other ideas? I tried all the check/upcheck for Allow All and so on. Best wishes, Marcus |

| | RE: Live Messenger Status always OFFLINE Still not working. All MSN accounts appear OFFLINE from my computer. Does anyone know an alternative to the embedded webchat for your own webpage? Have tried web2messenger but it's not really a chat and it has a poor design in general. Best wishes, Marcus |

| | RE: Live Messenger Status always OFFLINE Now Live Messenger is working online (for my website) again after 6-7 weeks of downtime. I emailed Live Messenger Support from the webpage they have. 2 hours later it was working. Still have no idea why so this thread is quite useless now. |
