"formating" does not really overwrite the entire drive, just the "table of Contents", and that is why data can be recovered that was deleted, or off "supposedly" formated hard drives. Data is only truly "unrecoverable" and "deleted" when it has been overwritten multiple times. see post #3 here for free software that will "wipe" the drive, if that is what you want to do: Free Today - Paragon Drive Copy 9.0 Personal SE (English Version) |
