| Guest | WLM to open IE in a new tab of the current window Is it possible? Neither seems to work, not even a link inside the chat window, nor when WLM will open my hotmail email account. It will ALWAYS open in a new IE window. That's annoying. WLM Latest version IE 8 (but I think it happens since IE6) Windows 7 x64 |

| Guest | Re: WLM to open IE in a new tab of the current window As far as I know, opening the browser in a new window or in a new tab in the newest window is just a matter of calling a different API, or maybe just a change in the parameter in the same API call. Why doesn't the development team delegate this option to the USER? What's the whole point of having a browser with tabs when you can't really use them? I'm using Win7 for a while now and I really think the new programs bar is awesome. But why doesn't WLM follow the same path? Kind of strange if you consider IE7, IE8 and Win7 come from the same company WLM does. | Guest | Re: WLM to open IE in a new tab of the current window Hi, Well I know for a fact that they are extremely paranoid of transferring credentials from Messenger to Internet Explorer (to automatically sign you in for Hotmail) so it's possible it requires a whole new session to do that. However, for the links within a conversation window that people are sending to you (not including other elements of Messenger, like what's new feeds, etc.), should open in a new tab in Internet Explorer (with IE8, WLM 2009 and Win7). -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "TMA" <tmasoftwares@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:OC9YtPu6JHA.4376@xxxxxx Quote: > As far as I know, opening the browser in a new window or in a new tab in the newest window > is just a matter of calling a different API, or maybe just a change in the parameter in the > same API call. | Guest | Re: WLM to open IE in a new tab of the current window Yes, you are right. A new window is opened only for Hotmail auto sign in (that's what I use the most, I don't really click links away). Thx.
