| | Changing computers Hi, I have just bought a new computer and set up all of my email accounts on the new one from the old computer. Now I want to do the same with Windows Live Messenger. I want to delete all of my contacts on the old computer but keep them on the new computer. That's what I want to do but.... I tried it and when I deleted one contact from my old computer, it also deleted it on the new computer. Can anybody tell me how I do this please??? With my actual e-mail accounts, when I completely deleted an account on the old computer, it was still there on the new computer. So I am thinking along the lines that I must delete a whole account somehow in Windows Live Messenger!? Am I along the right lines here? Can anybody tell me the step by step instructions on doing these please. It will be much appreciated. Wendy |

| | Re: Changing computers Greetings Wendy, I really should've read this post first as it would've made the other one make a little more sense. Please read the reply to your other post as it explains why deleting them on one computer affects the other. That said, I'm not really sure what you wish to accomplish - there is nothing to delete on the old computer, as everything is stored on the server. If you're looking to just remove your sign in information, you can use the 'forget me' link as I noted in my previous post. Although if you're automatically signing into Messenger, you may first need to right-click on the Messenger icon in the notification area (by the clock) and choose Sign out to reach the correct screen. This of course is done on the old computer. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Wendy" <none@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:uktZZdO$JHA.1488@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi, > > I have just bought a new computer and set up all of my email accounts on the new one from > the old computer. > > Now I want to do the same with Windows Live Messenger.
