| | webcams I just bought 2 Microsoft Life Cams, VX-5000. I installed 1 and sent one to my daughter. After both were installed I open my cam and my image appeared on my screen. I then make a video call and was able to see who I called, but they couldn't see me. I've tried on both my desktop and my laptop, with the same results. I even installed with my virus and firewall disabled but got the same result. I'm running Vista, 32 on both. Anyone have a suggestion. |

| | Re: webcams Greetings, Although there's plenty of possible reasons this is happening, open up the main Messenger window, press the Alt key on the keyboard to bring up the menu bar, then click the Tools menu, then Options, and finally under the Webcam section of the bottom of the Personal category (opened by default), make sure 'Allow others to see that I have a webcam' is selected. If it isn't, select it, click OK, then shut down Messenger entirely and then start it back up again. Then attempt your video call again. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Popey37" <Popey37@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:0D9BC809-B13E-41E1-B7B5-90A18478D4EF@xxxxxx Quote: > I just bought 2 Microsoft Life Cams, VX-5000.
