Vista - Cannot sign in messenger live

Running xp with vista. When I try to log into messenger the message that
comes up on the box is--WE CAN'T SIGN YOU INTO LIVE MESSENGER-SIGING IN TO
WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER FAILED BECAUSE THE SERVICE IS TEMPORAILY UNAVAILABLE,
PLEASE TRY LATER....Now this has been doing this for a few days since I
installed messenger. Please can someone be of assistance and if so can you
send the details to email...Markramsden@xxxxxx

To best help you out with this, can you click the 'Show details' button in the "can't sign
you in" window? This should pop up an extra error code which will better localize what your
exact problem is. Just write this code into your reply.
