Windows live messenger has stopped working!!

I can't seem to get windows live messenger to open. Everything was working as usual until it randomly stopped responded and I was forced to end task. After ending task it will no longer open at all, i click on the icon and nothing happens, it isn't running in the task list either. I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times, nothing seems to comes up. Internet is working fine, firewalls are turned off, it just doesn't seem to ever open the program to allow me to sign in.

These msg was shown after i click on the WLM icon : 'Windows live messenger has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"

And these msg was also shown:

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: msnmsgr.exe
Application Version: 14.0.8064.206
Application Timestamp: 498cf586
Fault Module Name: WLDCore.dll
Fault Module Version: 14.0.8064.206
Fault Module Timestamp: 498cf56c
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 00002ee5 OS
Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 17417

Files that help describe the problem

Version.txt

AppCompat.txt
memory.hdmp
minidump.mdmp

I'm frustrated with WLM, does anyone know how to solve this?

Re: Windows live messenger has stopped working!!

Greetings,

Since it just started, your best bet would be to use System Restore.

In XP it can by found by clicking Start, then Help & Support, and then "Undo changes to my
computer using System Restore".

In Vista and Windows 7, you can get to it by clicking Start, typing "system restore" and
clicking the shortcut to it when it appears.

Hi Yuen0109,

I had almost the same problems as you In windows Live messenger 9, But
all mine happened after I downloaded the Windows Update KB961503. My Windows
Live Meessenger 9 (AKA: WLM Build 14.0.8089.726) did not load it was not in
my Task bar and no windows componants could be opened. I could not even close
down my system or shut off my system. I culd not run a restore or anything.
My system was frozen only an Hour glass appered and it did not go away, and I
had
to turn it off my system from my power bar. I lke you : tried to reload WLM 9
again and again and again and I got no where (I cursed Mcrosoft for the
Piles of Junk that killed my system). I finally paid Microsoft by Credit
card, told them my problems and they Emailed me a fix). I dd what it said and
started over again (and just downloaed the messenger only (I ignored the
silver light, movie maker, the family care etc and all the extra Frills), So
I erased all My Firewall entries for the Windows Live Messenger (WLM 9) and
followed the Email from Microsoft support) Did you fix Your problem ? If so
tell me what You did... if Not I can send you the Email Microsoft support
sent me to Fix it. It seems to be working OK now. Maybe this fix will help
you, as it did me) You can Email me at : lepitbull@newsgroup
and give me an address where I can send the Email Microsoft sent me ( & free
of charge) and try it, of you want. It Might Help and maybe not but I paid
for it
and Insead of deleting it, I have been giving it to people who had our
problems
half email me back with an email of Thanks. It fixed me and all is OK if
and if you
want try it You have Nothing to loose except another person (me on;y) with
your Email address. It is Up to You I would be happy to send it to You. Have
a Good Day...

P.s. It fixed me OK I liked WLM 8.1 and I had so many problems with WLM 9.
so Give ma an addrerss where I ca sen it to You. I would be happy to do
so. Free of Charge (INo spam, mo spyware or malware trust me). What
have you got to Loose ?
