SOCKS Proxy

Is it possible to grey out the SOCKS setting in WLM. I'm wanting to prevent
changes to this field.

Re: SOCKS Proxy

Greetings Dan,

Messenger has no GPO/policy settings, so no. The registry keys where this configuration is
stored is with the rest of the Messenger keys, and so locking it down via ACL isn't a good
option either.

You could write a quicky app that would monitor for the dialog and disable the box, but that
could easily be defeated.

In general, this should be blocked on a network level, not an application one.
