Offline contacts in favourites category + groups

I'm guessing this is a known problem so was looking for a workaround more
than anything else. Is there any reason why offline contacts aren't hidden
in the favorites category? It seems to defeat the purpose having the rest of
your list pushed out by contacts who aren't online. I'd love them to be
alphabetically arranged too.

At the moment I've just created my own "favorites" category and pushed
contacts into that. Is there any way to hide or delete the real favorites
(now empty)?

Also, how do I delete empty groups? WLM insists I have to make someone else
the owner before I can leave it. Is there any way of hiding the category
altogether?

TIA

Shak

Re: Offline contacts in favourites category + groups

Greetings Shak,

That is rather annoying isn't it.

I think this is by design, and I can't specifically think of a way of changing the behaviour
(although someone might be able to patch it).

However, you can hide the Favorites category. Just right-click the Favorites category
itself, choose Change favorites layout and then when the Options dialog appears, uncheck
'Show favorites' at the very top.
