Vista - IM / VOIP encryption

When will MSFT finally add security to Windows Live Messenger so that we can
enrypt IM / VOIP traffic between users? People have been asking for this for
years, and even their latest version they made available last week (build
14.0.8089.726) doesn't have any mention of them adding this capability.

There's third party stuff to help with this, but obviously everyone needs the application and
I assume you're aware of them already.

I would assume as a consumer product would be one of the big reasons this hasn't been a
priority. Never mind some of the third parties that have relied on the fact that it's not
encrypted in the past (there could be agreements there).

Just a side note for those searching up this post, Messenger sign in is still encrypted, it's
just the instant messages afterwards that aren't.
