| | Vista SP2 has borked my Live Messenger Hi, So oddly I was only just made aware of the Vista SP2 download for X64 systems like yesterday and ever since I installed it my Live Messenger won't work. Sign's in, goes to the little blue circle and crashes. A quick cursory Google yields numerous pages of identical issues following the SP2 download. Most seem to be unhelpful ramblings and a lot suggest reinstalling Live Messenger. I did that, and I also went through the repair process under the Control Panel but no luck. What does everyone recommend? Thanks. |

| | Re: Vista SP2 has borked my Live Messenger Greetings, Removing the Windows Live Contacts cache can sometimes fix the symptoms you're experiencing. To do this, press the Windows key and R on the keyboard to bring up the Run box, then enter: %userprofile%\appdata\local\microsoft and click OK. Scroll down and delete the Windows Live Contacts folder. Then try Messenger again. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "m3tallica" <m3tallica@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:92D81722-3E11-4C65-928C-78276467581E@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi, > > So oddly I was only just made aware of the Vista SP2 download for X64 > systems like yesterday and ever since I installed it my Live Messenger won't > work.
