Unable to use video call to contacts in USA

--
KKI have a huge problem with the new Windows live Messenger. My contact in
the USA cannot see me when we make a Video call. I see her she doesnt see
me. I have contacted Windows about this and they have told me that there is
a problem so I am still using an older version as there is no problem with
that. Now I am told that I will have no option but to upgrade so I am left
with a product that is usless to me. What can I do.

Re: Unable to use video call to contacts in USA

Greetings Pip,

What exactly do you see when you try? Is it just black or a "broken" webcam icon?

Also, do you happen to know which version you're using (press the Alt key in any Messenger
window to bring up the menu bar, choose Help and then About to find out) and what version
your contact is using?

Re: Unable to use video call to contacts in USA

Hi Jonathan,
I am using 8.1 . As soon as I updated from that to 8.5 I started geting
the problem and after much tooing and froing with Windows Help and going to
my ISP to find out if there was a problem there, then to Logitech to check if
there was a webcam problem I went back to 8.1 and have had no probs since.
The problem is this: I can talk to the USA contact fine, there is no audio
problem. I can see myself on my own laptop fine but she gets no video of
me. I hope that explains things clearly.
Oh, also after all the, as I call it, tooing and froing, I was told by
Windows that they were aware there WAS a problem and were hoping to rectify
it.

Re: Unable to use video call to contacts in USA

Sorry meant to say that my contact was using the updated version. The one
before this recommended new one.
