| | I cannot send e-mail to.......@q.com using Windows Live Messaging Periodically I have to send e-mail to our 27 member RV club for different reasons and the problem I'm having is with one member that has an e-mail (An e-mail service from Qwest). This is the only e-mail service that I have problems with among several different ones in our group. When I send e-mails with PDF attachments (Or not) it is never delivered although I never receive a message "Delivery Status Notification (Failure)" as I have with other problem e-mail. It just goes out and is never heard of again. When I contacted Qwest the only questions that were asked of me were, was I using Outlook, Outlook express, Hotmail or essentially any Microsoft e-mail programs which of course I am. (This particular problem is with Windows Live Messaging, it will go through using Outlook). Qwest's customer service person's English was not all that great, but my impressions from her instructions she thinks the problem was with Microsoft products. I don't know if they are blocking any e-mail being sent by Windows Live or not but my suspicions do lean that way. It will go through using my local ISP mail service and Outlook. It's just strange that she ask the questions about Microsoft products specifically and the Qwest e-mail service is the only one of our group that just disappears. I have quadruple check the address and it is correct I have been in contact with the person in question by telephone and we have tried sending while he was at his computer and on the telephone and he does not receive it and I do not get any kind of error message. It shows to be sent and then just disappears. At this time I cannot contact my ISP to see if he has any filtration system that would block this e-mail. I will only be able to see him Monday but I don't think the problem is with my ISP because it goes through properly when I'm using Outlook. Albert |

| | Re: I cannot send e-mail to.......@q.com using Windows Live Messaging This issue is most likely caused by your Anti Virus . Disable the email scanning from your Anti Virus and test. To disable the email integration properly you will need to uninstall your AV and then re-install it without the email integration (scanning) Also read the following http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. I am using AVG (free) and could quite easily disable both incoming and outgoing e-mail. When I send a test e-mail to myself through my local ISP e-mail service everything worked just fine and there were no advertisements on the bottom of the e-mail from AGG stating that the e-mail had been scanned. I also sent a test to the e-mail address in question but unfortunately when I called them on the telephone apparently they're not at home so it will be a while before I know one way or the other if this has corrected the problem. Thank you very much for your kind help and prompt reply, Albert |

But thank you anyway, Albert |

| | Re: I cannot send e-mail to.......@q.com using Windows Live Messaging Albert Did you disable it the way I posted by uninstalling and the re-installing without the email integration or you just used the Disable button to do it. You need to follow what I posted because by just using the disable switch will not work most of the time. It will not completely disable the option -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. It will not completely disable the option No, I did not uninstall my AV but I did just get through uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Live Messenger. When I did it changed the whole format. I just got through building a new computer and when I installed Messenger is installed as part of IE 8. Not like it was before. Now it is not part of IE 8 instead it opens in The Windows Live Messenger format. I've re-sent the e-mail in question and I am waiting to find out how it works. I do know that when I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking in Messenger now everything works much better than it did before. If nothing else the least Messenger is working much better. Again thank you, Albert |
