| | Bugs in 14.0.8089.726 Version - 14.0.8089.726 Host OS - XP SP2 Does anybody have any solutions to the following issues :- 1. Display Picture size in the chat window - you set the picture to 'small', yet it reverts to large in the next session - VERY annoying indeed. 2. The auto-adjust on the mic volume keeps dipping for both talkers, much worse than with the older 8.5 client. Sometimes talkers cannot hear the other person, and it takes a while to come back up, sometimes this seems totally random - can this be totally disabled because it's quite bad and if there is no solution then it will be time to use a different IM. More as I find em. Would be nice to have a fully de-bugged IM client if all users are being forced by MS to update to this version. |

| | Re: Bugs in 14.0.8089.726 Greetings, 1. It doesn't save this setting anywhere, so it doesn't restore it. 2. I don't think you can turn this feature off, but I could be wrong (and would be happy to be). -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "coldblue" <coldblue@newsgroup> wrote in message news:58D9D905-7E90-4193-841F-C4B1C61B7B4B@newsgroup Quote: > Version - 14.0.8089.726 > Host OS - XP SP2 > > Does anybody have any solutions to the following issues :- > > 1. | | Re: Bugs in 14.0.8089.726 Hi Jonathan, Re #1, maybe you could mention to the dev team about allowing the user to save the display picture size setting. I'm guessing the older clients just defaulted to the small setting then. At the moment I have to keep changing it in every session as it's just too large. Perhaps the display picture could be swappable between left or right side in the chat window too, give the user some customization choices perhaps. Another good idea is playing new message sounds even when a window is in focus, like in other IM clients, this is useful to some people and would only require a tick box choice for those who want/do not want it. Thanks. "Jonathan Kay [MVP]" wrote: Quote: > Greetings, > > 1. It doesn't save this setting anywhere, so it doesn't restore it. > > 2. | | RE: Bugs in 14.0.8089.726 Guys further to this, i do not have a problem with auto adjust in vista with messenger but using my other computer with win7 it is VERY ANNOYING! Messenger keeps readjusting the mic level and people cant hear me even though i disabled the reduce thing from the sound communication settings! So could this be a win7 problem or messenger?
