Can't uninstall Windows Live Messenger

When I try to update to the latest messenger the update fails. I tried
uninstalling my current version of msn manually via Add or Remove Programs
but when I try to do so it says it is unable to find the MsnMsgs.msi file.

Where can I find this file?

I'm running windows XP SP2 and windows live messenger 8.1.0178.00

Cheers

Phil

Re: Can't uninstall Windows Live Messenger

Thanks Jonathan,

Not sure if this is a bug, The first time I ran ZapMessenger it was
searching for ages so I closed it and re-ran it and it immediately told me
that messenger had been removed.

I'm now running the latest messenger no problems.

Thanks again

Phil

Re: Can't uninstall Windows Live Messenger

Hi Phil,

As ZapMessenger attempts a normal uninstall first, at times [for some reason] it waits
indefinitely for it to finish. I've been planning on adding a watchdog thread to fix that,
but it hasn't happened yet
