Operating 2 message programs at same time

I have a new shared computer with vista xp. We used to be able to run msn messenger, and windows messenger at the same time on the old one. This would allow both of us to stay signed in at the same time. i can't download any other versions of messenger to operate with windows live messenger. Can anyone help with that?

Re: Operating 2 message programs at same time

Greetings,

Although there are some other schemes and third-party instant messaging applications which
support Messenger you could use, you can actually set Messenger to start multiple times to
allow what you want.

To do so, just download and run the following .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...eInstances.reg

After this is imported, you don't need to restart Messenger, just click on a Live Messenger
shortcut to open up another session.

Re: Operating 2 message programs at same time

thank you, I'm able to run 2 messengers now but have an encountered some problems. Apparently you cannot see our display pictures, and when one of us signs in, the other one signs in, temporarily. Can you help with that?

Re: Operating 2 message programs at same time

Do I create a new:
Key?
String Value?
Binary Value?
D-Word Value?
Multi-String Value?
Expandable String Value?

When I created a new key it didn't work.
