Vista - Windows Live Messenger disconnecting constantly over Vista sp2

Hi i'm running windows live messenger latest version (2009) on windows vista
home premium sp2. I keep disconnecting from messenger constantly, it's very
annoying. My network is working properly and i'm always online, but messenger
keeps disconnecting every 2 to 3 minutes. This only happens with vista. I've
tried on the same network with an xp box and works fine. I tried changing my
password, changing sign in option so it won't disconnect if another session
is in use (which i'm pretty sure it's not). I don't know what else to do.

for example if you left ur messenger connected at the office, when you
connect at home, it will keep the office connection alive and it will
keep disconnecting you from the connection at home.
