| | Windows Live messenger signs in and out I have winodws live messenger installed on four Pcs at home and one at work, the ones at home work fine. On the machine at work when i try to login to windows live messenger It logs me in for 30 seconds and logs me out and connects again and logs me out like a open loop. Three other people at work are experiencing the same problem while ten others are not. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing wiith the latest version but I still have the same issue. Does anyone know of a fix for this issue. Thanks |

| | Re: Windows Live messenger signs in and out Greetings, Which Windows version is being used here? If it's Vista (or Win7), you might try turning off autotuning, as it may just be incompatible with your work's network setup. To turn off this feature, open up an elevated command prompt and type the following: netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled If you're unsure what I mean by an "elevated command prompt", this explains it: http://www.kombitz.com/2007/02/14/vi...ommand-prompt/ -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "McLemore" <McLemore@newsgroup> wrote in message news 298E319-9912-44BD-B68D-338AB292F4EE@newsgroupQuote: > I have winodws live messenger installed on four Pcs at home and one at work, > the ones at home work fine. Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, hoping that might be the solution. No way. Really need help. Thanks. |

| XP Professional ( Work ) & Vista Ultimate ( Home ) | Re: Windows Live messenger signs in and out Same problem here. When I use my work laptop with "free" wlan at work or wired lan or wlan at home, Live Messenger works perfectly no problems at all. When I disable wlan at work and start to use live messenger trough company wired lan the Live messenger starts to login & logout in a loop (30sek to auto login etc). Worked perfectly before but... I do not remember maybe a month ago I could not use anymore Live Messenger anymore trough company's wired lan as it stays online only few seconds before going back to login screen. No error messages and all Microsoft updates done. Tried uninstalling and after reinstalled same problem exists. Any suggestions what to do? Earlier it worked very nice. I have tried yesterday downgrading to MSN Messenger 7.0 and it worked well. But again after "upgrading" back to Live Messenger same problem started. /Ismo Last edited by Ismo; 10-14-2009 at 02:23 PM.. |

| Vista 64 Business | Re: Windows Live messenger signs in and out I have the same problem. Disable autotuning does not work for me. At home my laptop works fine, at work messenger disconnects when switching from Offline to online. I tryed another msn account (with less contacts) and this account works fine at work.... Very strange. I hope someone can provide me an answer. |
