Disabling messenger

I have no use for "Messenger" or "Today", and want to disable them so I don't
have to close them out each time I log on. How do i do that? I don't see
Messenger shown in the Programs file, soi can't delete it there, as was
suggested on another site. Thanks.

Re: Disabling messenger

Greetings,

Just open Messenger up, press the Alt key on the keyboard to bring up Messenger's menu bar,
then choose the Tools menu, then Options, and then choose the Sign In category. Finally
uncheck 'Automatically run Windows Live Messenger when I log on to Windows' and click OK.

It shouldn't bother you again. Also, while you're there, uncheck 'Show Windows Live Today
after I sign in to Messenger' so that you don't have to see the Live Today window for
whenever you do choose to use Messenger.
