| | Remotesupport with live messenger (Vista to Vista) dosnt work I have testing the Remotesupport on live messenger 9 with two of my Live ID, one on Notebook (XP), the other on Desktop (Vista) Both computers have connectet on the same DSL Router (Desktop on LAN, Notebook on WLAN) This Connection have been o.k. I can control Notebook with Desktop. After that I call a friend on a Remote Computer (Vista to), but now the Connection not work. There was any time a white Display and than the Message: Member has stop Connection. But thats not true. What can be the Problem? |

| | RE: Remotesupport with live messenger (Vista to Vista) dosnt work if both ends have a router, try turning UPnP (universal plug and play) on in your router. or if already on, turn it off. usually, upnp must be on if both ends have a router. but if both computers are attached to the same router, sometimes upnp must be off. when upnps need to be on, it is because private ip address needs to be changed to public ip address or vise versa, which is what upnp does. | | Re: Remotesupport with live messenger (Vista to Vista) dosnt work Greetings, All of Messenger's invitations send all IPs on the system. There really should no reason to turn UPnP off to make it work internally. Also, in RA, you only need UPnP working on the side requesting, as the person who will be assisting will be just connecting to them. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger MessengerGeek Blog: http://www.messengergeek.com Messenger Resources: http://messenger.jonathankay.com (c) 2009 Jonathan Kay - If redistributing, you must include this signature or citation -- "Negotiator" <Negotiator@newsgroup> wrote in message news:24107838-54A9-4587-9903-61EDF1AF2A42@newsgroup Quote: > if both ends have a router, try turning UPnP (universal plug and play) on in > your router. or if already on, turn it off. usually, upnp must be on if > both ends have a router. but if both computers are attached to the same > router, sometimes upnp must be off. when upnps need to be on, it is because > private ip address needs to be changed to public ip address or vise versa, > which is what upnp does. > > "TAZ567" wrote: > Quote: >> I have testing the Remotesupport on live messenger 9 with two of my Live ID, >> one on Notebook (XP), the other on Desktop (Vista) >> Both computers have connectet on the same DSL Router (Desktop on LAN, >> Notebook on WLAN) >> This Connection have been o.k.
