Vista - Live Messenger Not Compatible With Yahoo Messenger

I have recently discovered that Live messenger will not recognize Yahoo
Messenger contacts Online status. I know this to be true because I sign in to
both services daily.
Yahoo Messenger does recognize my Live messenger status, But Live messenger
will Not. I beleive it is yet another "improvement " on a Microsoft product
that ultimatey failed.....AGAIN. I have no "Block" settings to any of my
contacts in either of these programs. I can receive messages from Yahoo
contacts In Live Messenger, I can even see a Live Messenger contact "online"
in Yahoo Messenger. But Live does not show the online status of Yahoo
messenger contacts.
What could cause that problem?
