Re: WINDOWS LIVE COMMUNICATIONS PLATFORM HAS STOPPED WORKING

    Greetings Julie,

Have you looked at any of the other posts regarding this problem?

Assuming not, as a starting point, press the Windows key and R to bring up the Run box, then
    paste the following:
    %userprofile%\appdata\local\Microsoft
    then click OK.

Then, delete the "Windows Live Contacts" folder. Then try again.

Assuming that didn't work, if you're using Windowblinds, you'll need to uninstall that (or at
    least set it to not
use Wlcomm or Messenger) or simply use the built-in standard Windows themes.

Next, if you're running any sort of anti-virus or internet security software, you should
uninstall it (at least temporarily, to determine if it's part of the problem, you can
    reinstall it afterwards).

Finally, part of Nvidia's optional Forceware software (the "Network Access Manager") has been
known to cause problems, you can just uninstall it as well (and use the Windows firewall or
another freeware product if you need one).

    Dear Jonathan:

    not a problem. And I don't have
Nvidia's opetional Forceware, at least I don't think I do.....

Please help....... What can I do.........

I have not changed a thing on this computer and one morning I woke up and
    could no longer connect.

    Please let me know.

    Thank you,

    Julie

Re: WINDOWS LIVE COMMUNICATIONS PLATFORM HAS STOPPED WORKING

    Hi Julie,

If you used Windowblinds, you'd know about it. Regardless, an easy to check if you have
certain products installed is just to head over to the Control Panel and look at the Programs
    and Features applet.

How long ago did this start? An easy fix might be to use System Restore, which will restore
just the system components of Windows an earlier state. To do this, click Start, type System
Restore and click System Restore once it appears in the list. Then follow the wizard to
restore back to a day when you know it was working.
