I was having a problem with messenger, so I uninstalled it. I try to
download it again from the Windows Live website but once the windows live
installer opens up an error comes up and says "Try installing Windows live
programs again". I want to wipe windows live completely off my computer and
reinstall everything again but I can't figure out how. I tried to remove it
in add/remove programs but the windows live essentials window comes up and my
only option is the "mail." If anyone understands this can you please help
me?

To reinstall the entire Windows Live Suite, you have to uninstall all its components - so
that includes mail.

We'd really have to see your installation log to see what's going on, although in some cases,
it's even useless. If you just want to reinstall Messenger (and keep Mail installed), just
download and run the following Microsoft Installer file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/w3qfe2/wlm.asp

After that it should appear on your start menu. Normally, there would be more things to
install, but since you have Mail installed still, they're not required.

What was your original Messenger problem anyway?
