OC2 in Canada?

Will OneCare 2.0 be released for Canada, or will we have to wait again like
we did for 1.0?

Will upgrades be free?

Upgrades will be free and automatic. It will be available in all markets where
OneCare is currently available, including Canada.

Re: OC2 in Canada?

I got an e-mail telling me about the update and it included a link to get
details on the new features, but when I go there:
http://communications3.msn.com/Key=3...ZJ.C.Fb.NyWBLB

I just get redirected here:
http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-ca/default.htm

So where are the details?

Re: OC2 in Canada?

I believe that the listing of the new features has been delayed until the new
version is actually released. The full description will be on the link your are
directed to at release, I suspect.
You can go here to learn what to expect based on the beta announcement made in

Re: OC2 in Canada?

Thanks, I really like the idea of central management.

Will it run on WHS?

Re: OC2 in Canada?

No, Windows Home Server is built upon Windows Server 2003, which is not a
support OS for OneCare. If you have WHS, OneCare will recognize this at setup
and suggest that you turn off backup in OneCare and use WHS for backup.

Re: OC2 in Canada?

That's fine for backup, but what AV will be available for WHS? Something
like OneCare which makes economic sense is required.

Re: OC2 in Canada?

There are 3rd parties stepping in to fill the void with antivirus on WHS. I
believe Avast has a product in beta right now.
