entire system slowed to a crawl after install

I have an alomst brand new computer that I use for photoshop with the
following specs:

GIGABYTE GA-M57SLI-S4 Motherboard
AMD athlon 64 x2 6400+ 3.2ghz dual core Processor
OCZ OCZ2G8002GK 4gb kit Ram
MICROSOFT Windows xp professional
PLEXTOR px-810sa 18x DVD+/-rw dual layer/dvd-ram
MSI Geforce 8800gts Video Card
WD 150gb WD1500ADFD SATA150 System Drive

I had the OneCare demo installed and I uninstalled it through the control
panel then installed the full version and after the install my intire system
slowed to a crawl, certain applications won't even start and it will no
longer recognize an external USB drive. Any suggestions?

Never mind... I simply uninstalled the program and used the cleanup tool and
now everything is back to normal. Should I try another install or just leave
well enough alone?

See this forum post before you reinstall OneCare -

I suspect you have the peer services enabled.
