Re: All just marketing fluff or is it really that good?

I've been using OneCare for about 4 months now with no problems to report. And that is what's scaring me. One care is not finding anything. Now I don't go to the truly dangerous websites, but I do surf quite a bit. In previous days of using XP with programs like Ad-Aware and SpyBot, it wasn't unusual to find a couple of bad eggs in the basket on a weekly or at least monthly basis.

Now using OneCare with my Vista 64, I find that I'm either going to some truly safe sites, or OneCare is not finding the spyware, trojans, etc.

I'm trying to determine if that's a good thing or not? OneCare has been virtually invisible to me so far. It doesn't appear to be a resource hog and if properly setup does not bug the bejeesus out of you with every mouse click.

I suspect the jury is still out on OneCare, especially for Vista 64. Maybe the creeps creating the spyware haven't figure out how to be effective in the 64 bit format? I doubt it will take them long.

I suppose for now, "no news" is truly good news.

No news is good news. :-)
If you want to confirm that it's working, try out one or more of the free online
scanners (disabling OneCare protection to avoid conflicts:
