Updates, how often

How often does onecare update. I cannot seem to find the log file to check on this, and the virus and spyware definition version seems to have been on version 1.31.9148.0 for 3 days now.

It updates, or checks for updates, throughout the day. Open OneCare, click
change settings, logging tab, create support log. You'll see the various times
that it did update.

Re: Updates, how often

Thanks for that steve But the fact that antivirus signatures have not been updated for over 3 days now is quite frankly appalling. For a company as large as microsoft, it is unacceptable, and there is not a chance that microsoft could be regarded as a serious player in the antivirus sector unless they start to make updates and their customers a bigger priority.

Re: Updates, how often

I should have said the i am using the 2.5 beta. I see now according to microsoft malware protection centre, that the antivirus definitions are now at v1.31.9269.0, whilst the beta version is still at v1.31.9148.0. It has now been 4 days since an update. Not good to put the beta testers at risk of the latest infections when we are helping to develop onecare. From reading around the internet a lot of people are dropping 2.5 and going back to version 2.0 as they are unhappy about lack of updates and information .

2.5 beta is now uninstalled. Very poor from microsoft considering we are supposedly helping to develop their program.

Re: Updates, how often

Beta testing is not for everyone, hawkwind. Although the 2.5 beta is quite
stable, it isn't production level code and the back end environment is not the
same as the production environment. Beta testing always brings with it some
risk.
