Windows Live Photo Gallery imports and plays fine several
videoformats, like mpg. However, my Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ 50 produces videofiles in Quicktime format - MOV. WLPG does not display these files and will not play them. Everytime I start WLPG, a dialog box pops up and tells me that it needs to install codecs to support RAW and Quicktime files. A button says "Download". Clicking download, brings me to Apples Quicktime website for download. I install Quicktime - however no change. Every time I start WLPG, it keeps on directing me to Apples website. Anyone know if support for Quicktime MOV files can be installed with Windows Live Photo Gallery under WIndows XP? Bjørn Tore |

I've installed QuickTime Alternative, which installs codecs only, and there's no way to see mov files with PG. It seems that PG had been released a little incomplete. There's a lot of missing features... |

Can you change formats to something more cross-platform like AVI? I see less
and less QT than I used to. "Skynet" <skynet@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:C2E1C1B6-5F7C-43AA-9A12-A8D76CFEDFA6@xxxxxx

Often these mov files are mjpeg (motion jpeg), not Quicktime, which can be played with WMP and probably in photogallery as well. Just change the extension to avi. |
