the update will not install

I had a automatic update for WLPG but it will not install. Has anyone else
had this problem? I ran it but after it tries to install it say the update
did not install. Ant thoughts?

Re: the update will not install

Yep, the same happened here with the update (KB 946486). It is an update for
Windows Live Photo Gallery 2008 on Windows XP. My machine meets both
requirements.

I'll try and get a hold of anybody in charge of this and report back to you
here.
Thanks for reporting

It may be worth a try to download the file
to your hard drive and install from there.
You can download the complete file from
the following site:

Windows Update Catalog
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx
(Search for : 946486)

You may have to hold your Ctrl key to
override your pop-up stopper

which can not be installed (message: program needed to complete installation
can't be run < translated from Dutch so might be slightly diff in English
but you get the point) :S

Re: the update will not install

John,
I downloaded the patch and did the install but it says it needs another part of the patch to work. It went partway through the install but halted.

Thanks for the help
Randy

Sorry, I don't know what the answer is...all I had
to do to install the .msp file was to left click it.

Maybe the following article will offer some ideas:

(943144) Updates are not installed successfully
from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update,
or by using Automatic Updates after you repair
a Windows XP installation
