The total size of the thumbnails is indicated by the Windows XP Pro built-in cleaning tool - Disk Cleaner. In my case the size is 18 MB and you indicated to me a file which is only couple KB. I'm puzzled. They are in the same folder with .pd4. If the point to this dialog is what will happen if you delete the files.
