Just a few questions about Live photo gallery

Hello there!
I am new to this forum, and this is my first post

I installed windows live photo gallery, and I have some questions I need to ask:
-Is it really necessary to install windows live photo gallery?
-Is there any difference between windows live photo gallery and windows photo gallery ?
-Isn't there a left pane in Live photo gallery like in windows photo gallery ? (where there is some info about any picture like it's rating, tags, date taken...) and if there is, how can I view it ?
-Windows live photo gallery is having some performance issues with some pics, althought my PC is pretty darn fast, How can I fix this issues?

My PC specs :
-4 GB RAM
- Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT 1GB
-Monitor : Samsung SyncMaster 2232 GW 22 inch
-OS : Genuine Microsoft windows vista home premium 32-bit
- CPU : intel core 2 quad @ 2.40 GHZ

10x a lot!!!!

No.

Yes.

The following articles adress the new features:

Windows Live Photo Gallery
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Live_Photo_Gallery

Windows Live Photo Gallery Features
http://get.live.com/photogallery/features

The next release of Live Photo Gallery will
include Face Recognition:

Upcoming “Face Recognition” in Windows Live Photo Gallery
http://www.digitalcamerasafari.com/2956/upcoming-/

And...FWIW...Windows Live Photo Gallery
can be installled on Windows XP.

Clicking "Info" on the toolbar will open a
pane on the right. Also you can right click
the background of the thumbnail pane and
choose Details.

Re: Just a few questions about Live photo gallery

hey there Jhon !
10x a lot for your help
it appears that the issues has been fixed after installing an update for live photo gallery, but one performance issue is still remaining :
when opening a picture, windows live photo gallery takes longer than windows photo gallery to open.
And one more question : can I change the black background in windows live photo gallery?
10x a lot

Sorry...I'm not sure why Live Photo Gallery is
slower to open. No guarantees but maybe the
following update would help:

(952709) A reliability and performance update
is available for Windows Vista SP1-based computers
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952709/en-us

You could try the following steps but I don't think you
can change the background in Live Photo Gallery
without affecting other programs.

Go to...Personalize Windows / Window Color and
Appearance / Advanced button....

Left click the "Window Text" area on the display...
Open the "Color 1" drop window and choose a color...
OK / OK

And...maybe the following article would be worth a look:

(942632) How to remove the association between
the display and a color profile when pictures are
being displayed with bad color
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942632/en-us
