Vista - Xbox 360 Extender: Connection Failed

Hi,
This is my first post, so i'd like to start off by saying hello I'm reallying liking the information on this forums so far.

Anyway down to bidness..

I recently had an issue with my xbox 360 extender after disabling one of the media center extender services in vista x64 ultimate. After trying trying to connect to the media center service i got this error:
Connection Failed
The Xbox 360 cannot connect to the Media Center based PC. Make sure the Media Center based PC is turned on and connected to the network. If you continue to see this error, check Media Center Extender Help on your Media Center based PC.

Did a little digging and found this MS KB which resolved my problem. Hope it is of some use to you guys.

I neglected to mention that i recieved the error after re-enabling the PnP-X-IP Bus Enumerator service.

I have the same problem. I deleted the certificate but I still get the same error.

yeah, i have the problem happen to me sporadically. sometimes that fixes it, other times i just get really pissed off :P i actually don't even use it for a media center extender anymore. I think i'll try it again on my next OS re-install.

I found my problem - it was that I had an alternate MAC address for the xbox. Not sure why that was there but anyway, I deleted that and everything worked. Crappy software from someone. What was bizarre that everything worked fine with XP MCE 2005. Nice one Microsoft.
