DVD Playback after SP1 Ugrade

I have an issue that I can't seem to get fixed. I have Vista Home Premium 64, and the DVD playback is fine using wmp until I install the SP1 update. After the update, the playback becomes a bunch of rainbow colored pixels. I can hear the audio, but the video is shot. Sometimes the picture will come in, but will immediately return to the rainbow pixels. I can play DVD's using a free open source player, but I would like to play DVD's in Media Center. Apparently, the free open source codec does not work in media center. I've tried the usual stuff. If anyone has any ideas it would be a great help.

Hope someone has some ideas, because I'm sure running out of them.

Re: DVD Playback after SP1 Ugrade

Hi rickeyd,

You need the Vista codec pack for your videos to function properly in WMP or MC, make sure you uninstall any other codecs first as the Vista codec pack includes every last codec you will need to play anything in WMP or MC.
