Vista - Media Center TV setup

Hello,

I recentlly bought the pinnacle HDTV USB tuner for my laptop and everything was working fine.. able to watch Live tv and record everything okay. Then I started clearing out my STARTUP folder in vista suddenly Media Center doesn't seem to detect that I have a TV tuner anymore.

I can run the pinnacle TV Center PRO program and its able to watch TV but when I try to get Media Center working, it doesn't even list Live TV and Movies anymore. I can't select TV from the setup screen (like I was able to before) and running the windows media center setup doesn't seem to detect that the tuner is there. I don't get any error messages or anything useful. Media Center just refuses to see a TV tuner.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This has been driving me crazy for the last 2 days!!! Thanks!

Hi, chankm_23, and welcome to the forums.

It sounds like you removed ehtray.exe - bad idea.

Can you enable it again or did you permanently delete it?

I found it in my C:\Windows\ehome directory. What do I do with it? How do I enable it again?

just double click it and it should run - and hopefully it will add it back to the startup
